Derived from Sanskrit, Van means forest and Vayu means wind. Together, Van Vayu captures the feeling that inspired this home: the gentle forest breeze moving through the mountains, carrying with it peace, stillness, and the simple joy of being surrounded by nature.

Van Vayu is a warm and inviting two bedroom A-frame cottage tucked away amidst rolling mountains, lush greenery, and uninterrupted valley views. Here, there are no neighbouring houses crowding the landscape, only open skies, fresh mountain air, and the soothing sound of the wind that gives this place its name.

Built entirely in a charming wooden structure, the cottage feels welcoming from the moment you step inside. Large glass windows frame the mountains from almost every corner, bringing the outdoors in and filling the space with natural light throughout the day. Every room has been thoughtfully designed with cozy interiors, warm wooden textures, comfortable furnishings, and little details that make you instantly feel at home.

The cottage features two beautifully appointed bedrooms. One bedroom is located on the ground floor and the second on the upper floor. Both rooms offer stunning views, comfortable seating areas, fresh linens, luggage racks, and open wardrobes for a relaxed and comfortable stay. The first floor bedroom opens onto a private balcony with two wooden chairs, making it the perfect spot to enjoy your morning chai, watch the clouds drift over the mountains, or simply sit in silence and take in the view.

There are two spacious bathrooms on the ground floor. One is attached to the ground floor bedroom, while the second serves guests staying in the upper floor room. Both bathrooms feature tasteful stonework and have been designed to be comfortable and practical.

The heart of the cottage is its warm and inviting living spaces. On the ground floor, the living room flows into the dining area, creating a cozy gathering space for meals, conversations, and quiet evenings. A wooden staircase leads upstairs to another beautifully designed lounge area with multiple seating corners. This floor also houses our small library, where guests can curl up with a book while gazing out at the mountains. Board games are available too, making it a wonderful space for families and friends to spend quality time together. Many guests find themselves settling by the large windows for hours, simply watching the ever changing landscape outside.

Step outdoors and the experience becomes even more special. A swing sits right in front of the cottage, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the moment. There are rustic wooden seating areas around the property, including a special viewpoint a short walk uphill where the scenery stretches endlessly before you. As evening falls, gather around a bonfire, listen to the wind moving through the hills, watch the mountains fade into dusk, and look up at a sky filled with stars on clear nights.

Van Vayu is also home to a small organic farm where seasonal produce is grown naturally. Guests are welcome to enjoy fresh harvests and savour local flavours, including regional favourites such as Kaladi Bread.
